WRFC Buy a Brick

As you probably are aware, in addition to the Club’s Development Fund plus various grants, we needed to take up an interest free loan from the RFU of £50,000, in order to complete the downstairs refurbishment at Wimborne RFC,

The suggested repayment plan, will take almost 15 years to repay the Loan.

This to me represents a millstone around the Club’s neck and will be a constant drain on the Club’s working capital resources.

My proposal is that we rid ourselves of this debt as soon as possible – in the form of member donation i.e. "Buy a Brick".
There will be exactly one thousand bricks and each will cost £50.

You can have as many bricks as you like subject to availability.

The ‘BRICK’ will bear the donor’s name and will be exhibited in perpetuity on an honours board on one of the Club walls (exact format yet to be established).

So that we can gauge member response to this proposal, and if you would indeed like to support this appeal, then please complete your name and address on the slip below and return it to Mike Wickenden, 13 Portchester Rise, Eastleigh, Hants, SO50 4QZ (or hand to any Committee Member).

The sooner that we can expunge this debt from the RFU’s ledgers, the quicker we can proceed on planning for yet further and more substantial improvements that we would like to make to the top half of the building.
